Barkz Dog Playground

Our Dog Playground is an indoor off-leash space for dogs to have fun and release excess energy. We have toys, balls, a ramp set, treats, agility obstacles, and more! Our playground supervisors are there to make sure the dogs have fun and stay safe.

Our programs include:

  • Puppy play groups - your puppy will have fun and learn to socialize
  • Breed play groups - dogs love to play with their own breed
  • Sunday morning drop-offs - leave us your dog while you enjoy a coffee
  • Training classes - puppy training all the way to advanced behavior

... plus birthday parties, pack walks, and more!

All dogs must have a Barkz membership to use the playground services. We do not allow exceptions to this, to make sure that every dog is properly vaccinated and properly socialized with other dogs. This keeps the play area fun for everyone.

Becoming a Member

  • Step 1: Call or email us to set up an appointment. We usually schedule appointments on Saturdays, Mondays, and Thursdays.
  • Step 2: Complete a Barkz membership application. We will need your vet's name and phone number so we can request vaccination records.
  • Step 3: Complete a Temperament Test with a playground supervisor... and you’re done!

Membership costs $5 for one year.

Vaccinations

If your dog doesn't have all his/her vaccinations, or if they are out-of-date, our trainers will ask you to update them. We have to ask you to do this, for your dog's safety and for the safety of our other canine guests.

We require the same vaccinations as most other daycares and boarding facilities: DHPP, Parvo virus, Bordetalla, Rabies, Flea/tick prevention and a fecal float. For puppies, it is fine if the vaccinations have been started - you don't have to wait until it is complete. Your vet will know what all these vaccinations are. Bring your vet's name or phone number and we'll contact them to make sure your dog is protected.

At Barkz we love to have fun with our dogs. Our Trix & Sticks class is all about fun and building a team with your puppy. We will use the clicker training method to learn fun and entertaining tricks. The steps to learning tricks are taught enabling you to use this format and your imagination to astound your friends and family with amazing feats with your canine friend.

Trick training offers both dogs and their owners many benefits. Dogs need mental stimulation and "jobs" to do. Many dogs develop problem behaviors because their mental energy is not being focused in a positive direction. You can use tricks to enhance your relationship with your dog, improve your dog's attention and reduce your dogs stress in unfamiliar situations. Teaching tricks allows you to give your dog a purpose and expend his/her energy in a fun and productive way. This class will teach you, the trainer, to be a better communicator and teacher to your dog.
